We the Rock Star Kids

We practiced Read to Self again today. Mrs. Youngblut was testing students while we did that. We also read with a partner. We practiced "checking for understanding" after our partner read a page to us.

We had P.E. and Art today. We played with frisbees in P.E. In Art, we found out we will have tiny pieces of cardboard and paint next time we have art. We will dip the cardboard in paint and make straight lines with the designs. It is called printing.

We have been talking about the Constitution of the United States. The Constitution is the law of our country. We are making a quilt using the preamble to the Constitution.

We practiced telling time with our clocks today. We practiced telling what the time was one hour ago and what time it will be one hour from now. We also practiced numbering a clockface.

Michael was the student of the day today and did the math meeting. We counted pennies during math meeting.

  1. Hi! My name is Debbi Gordon and I am Grandmother to Caleb Gordon in Mrs Youngblut's second grade class.
Today (Friday, Sept 16th)I had lunch with Caleb, and his sisters at Cardinal Elementary. It was fun to watch all the kids coming into the lunchroom in good order, taking their sets and enjoying lunch together.
I wanted to say "thank you" to Caleb for asking me to his classroom. It was a pleasure to meet his teacher, Mrs. Youngblut and then play Connect Four with Caleb, Conner, Griffin and Dylan. It appears that Griffin is a rock star when it comes to Connect Four!
Here's to a successful school year to all the members of Mrs. Youngblut's rocking second grade class!!!!
